Energy Bills Support Scheme
Energy Bills Support Scheme
Households across Northern Ireland have started to receive their £600 one-off payment to help with the costs of energy bills.
The UK government has confirmed that households will receive their payment in one of two ways, depending on how they currently pay their Energy Bills:
Persons who pay by direct debit will receive the £600 directly into the account they used to set up the direct debit; or
Persons/Households that pay in other ways (for example by top up meter, by cheque/transfer when billed) will be sent a voucher by post to redeem the £600 payment at the Post Office.
Please note that redemption of vouchers can only be undertaken at a Post Office branch.
They cannot be redeemed at any other financial institution, including a credit union. Please follow the instructions set out in the letter issued with your voucher.
Should you wish to lodge this money into your credit union account after your voucher has been redeemed at your local Post Office, you can do so in the normal way.
